SUPPLY LIST – Michael Quilts

FOR PREPARING PATTERN & FABRICS

Rotary Cutter (60mm recommended – 45mm and 28mm are also nice to have)
Repositional or Restickable Glue Stick (Scotch #M seems to work best for our needs)
Cutting Mat (a big one is highly recommended for cutting out newsprint) 24″ x 36″
Straight Rulers – 24″ comes in handy a lot when cutting out patterns. 18″ and 12″ are also used often.
Curved Rulers are nice to have, but not required.
Jumbo Smooth Metal Paper Clips – lots of them
Standard Size Stapler is optional for stacking multiple layers of newsprint to cut together.
Ziploc Bags – gallon size are best. Pattern will tell you how many you need
Binder Clips are optional and used to clip larger stacks of fabrics
3-Ring Binder is optional if you’d like to put your pattern pages into protective sleeves
Highlighter is optional for marking important information in your pattern instructions

FOR PAPER PIECING

Microtex Sharp Needle 70/10 or 80/12
50wt or 60wt thread
Basic Sewing Supplies (pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.)
Sharpie (used to mark your foundation papers)
Rotary Cutter (45mm is most common for this process)
Cutting Mat (12″ x 18″ is most common to have next to your sewing machine)
Repostional or Restickable Glue Stick (Scotch 3M seems to work best for our needs)
Fabric Glue Pen with Refill Cartridges (Sewline, Fons & Ports, or any narrow glue pen)
Plastic Fold Templates made from Heavy Duty Template Plastic 3 x 12″ (6″ & 18″ lengths also recommended)
Add-A-Quarter Rulers 12″ (6″ & 18″ also recommended)
Acorn Easy Press Pen (starch pen) with Easy Press Fabric Treatment (starch)
Small Iron and Pressing Surface near your sewing machine
